Selector Lever Handle, Removing and Installing

Selector lever handle, removing and installing, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (AWD)
There are different handles which are removed and installed differently.
^ Before any repair work, slide sleeve on selector lever slightly downward.





^ Check which color the plastic part in the handle is - arrow
Color is black.
Color is red-brown: This handle can replace handle with black plastic part.

^ Simply pull on handle only. Do not press the press button while doing this.

If press button in handle was pressed accidentally, it can be pulled out again or blown out carefully using pressurized air.





^ Always make sure that press button is pulled out to beyond the press point - at least 10 millimeters - a - projects out before installing.

While doing this, pull out press button by hand over the noticeable press point, this way it will not fall back

^ To install, place lever in "D" and press handle onto selector lever.

^ Place selector lever in position "3".





^ Slide sleeve - 1 - downward.
^ Pull out press button - 2 - from handle - 3 -only as far until pull lever - arrow - hangs downward.
^ Then remove handle from selector lever.

^ Place selector lever in position "3".





^ Pull out press button - 2 - from handle - 3 -only as far until pull lever - arrow - hangs downward.

Installation position: Button facing driver.
^ Now press handle onto selector lever up to stop.
^ Continue to pull press button out and guide cable lever - arrow - into handle.
^ Press the press button to secure pull lever in pull-rod - 4 -. Button must now spring back to stop again.
^ Slide sleeve - 1 - upward. - Place selector lever in position "P".
