Shift Interlock Cable: Service and Repair
Locking cable, removing and installing, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (AWD)
Removing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
Adjustment pin for shift lock 3 3352 A:
Torque wrench 550 Nm V.A.G. 1331:
^ Place selector lever in position "3".
^ First check whether a coded radio is installed. If this is the case obtain the anti-theft coding.
^ Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap with ignition switched off.
^ Remove selector lever handle.
^ Remove center console and extension.
^ Remove steering wheel with airbag.
^ Remove steering column switches.
^ Turn ignition key to run position (ignition on).
^ Place selector lever in position "P".
^ Release interlock lever and pull locking cable - 1 - from ignition/starter switch.
^ Remove cover.
^ Unclip locking cable from securing spring at selector mechanism housing, slightly lift up securing spring to do so.
^ Loosen and remove locking cable from cable clip - 2 -.
Installing
^ Route locking cable free of kinks.
^ Turn ignition key to run position (ignition on).
^ Insert locking cable into ignition/starter switch.
^ Check interlock lever - 1 -.
^ Secure locking cable to airbag sensor using cable clip - 2 -.
^ Turn ignition key into locking position (ignition off).
^ Place selector lever in position "P".
^ Hook locking cable into locking lever and clip locking cable support bracket - 3 - in securing spring for selector mechanism housing.
