Fluid Pan: Service and Repair



Oil pan, removing and installing, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (AWD)

Removing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Drip tray V.A.G. 1306:




Torque wrench 550 Nm V.A.G. 1331:








^ For vehicles with auxiliary heater, remove bolts - arrows - from exhaust pipe at noise insulation.





^ Remove noise insulation - arrows A and B -.
^ For vehicles with noise insulation - D -, remove bolts - arrows C -.
^ Place drip tray V.A.G. 1306 underneath.





^ Remove drain plug - arrow 1 -.
^ Drain ATF.
^ Loosen the oil pan bolts in a diagonal pattern and remove oil pan.

Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:
Drain plug with sealing ring must be replaced.
^ Clean all 4 magnets in the depressions in oil pan. Ensure that the magnets are in full contact with the oil pan.
^ Insert oil pan with a new gasket.
^ Tighten oil pan bolts in diagonal sequence and in stages.
^ Tighten new drain plug.





^ Install noise insulation - arrows -.
^ In vehicles with auxiliary heater, bolt exhaust pipe firmly to noise insulation.
^ Add ATF, check ATF level and top off.
