Connecting link for stabilizer, modified
The ball joint in the connecting link has been changed to a rubber mounting.
The track-control link was also slightly modified.
Connecting rod with ball joint
1. Connecting with ball joint; is no longer installed on vehicles beginning with vehicle identification no. 3-B-X P-213 727.
2. Track-control link was modified.
Only modified track-control link is still supplied as a spare part.
This track-control link can also be installed in vehicles produced prior to vehicle identification no. 3-B-X P-213 727.
In this case, the clamp - 4 -must also be used.
3. Self-locking hex nut
4. Clamp; is not installed in vehicles beginning with vehicle identification no. 3-B-X P-213 727.
5. Self-locking hex nut; 40 Nm plus an additional 90 (1/4 turn).
6. Stabilizer bar
Connecting link with bonded rubber bushing
Can be installed in vehicles up to but not including vehicle identification no. 3-B-X P-213 727. In this case, the clip - 4 - from diagram A40-0266, page is no longer installed.
Connecting link - A - for left side of vehicle
The arrow on connecting link points in driving direction.
The permanently mounted shim - 1 - on the connecting link must be bolted to the stabilizer bar.
Connecting link - B - for right side of vehicle
The arrow on connecting link points in driving direction.
The arrow in the figure symbolizes the direction of travel.
CAUTION:
Bonded rubber bushings can only be twisted to a limited degree. Therefore, the bolted connections of the suspension links should only be tightened when the vehicle is standing on its wheels.
1. Connecting link with bonded rubber bushing; bonded rubber bushing with attached shim - A - must be bolted to anti-roll bar.
2. Self-locking hex nut; 40 Nm plus an additional 90° 1/4 turn
3. Hex bolt
4. Lower control arm
5. Hex bolt
6. Self-locking hex nut; 40 Nm plus an additional 90° 1/4 turn
7. Stabilizer bar
