Generator (GEN) B1+ Connection From 08.99, Securing

A different version generator with construction and connector terminal changes are installed from 08.99 production.

External changes/differences between previous generator versions are:
- Voltage regulator type
- Oval, radial sealed 2-pole connector base plate versus previous square base plate
- Different connector terminal assignment designations => Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting and Component Locations

CAUTION: The (battery) positive terminal is now identified on the generator as "B1+".

If the B1+ terminal nut is not torqued as specified, the following may result:
- Battery will not be completely charged
- Vehicle electrical system malfunctions
- Danger of sparking
- - Damage to electronic components and control modules due to voltage spikes

Tightening torque for B1+ terminal securing nut -arrow-: 15 Nm (11 ft. lb.).
