Section H - Fuel Sending Unit Removal

(2001-2005 4Motion vehicles)





- Mark supply and return line and disconnect
- Seal lines so the fuel system is not contaminated with debris





- Remove locking ring using special wrench -3087- for tank sensor





- Pull flange and seal out of the opening in fuel tank
- Disconnect connectors -1- (white) and -2- (black) from inside of flange





- Unclip distributor piece -1- from lower part of baffle housing by pressing the two catches -2-, positioned one behind the other, toward outside -arrow A- then disconnect distributor piece -arrow B-





- Disconnect fuel return line -1- from distributor piece - 2- by releasing hose coupling of return line using release tool -T40020-





- Turn fuel pump approximately 15° toward left to stop using fuel pump wrench -3307- and remove it
