Bonded Rubber Mounting For Steel Wheel Bearing Housing, Removing and Installing (AWD)



Bonded rubber mounting for steel wheel bearing housing, removing and installing





Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Assembly device 3292
^ Lower control arm assembly device 3293
^ Puller for wheel hub 3349

Pressing out first bonded rubber mounting
^ Bend bonded rubber mounting plate collar over slightly.





^ Install assembly device 3292 and tighten spindle.

The tool blades must be positioned exactly between the bonded rubber mounting collar and wheel bearing housing.
^ Insert pin 3293/1.





^ Install puller for wheel hub 3349 so that the blades slide exactly between bonded rubber mounting and wheel bearing housing.
^ Turn spindle - 2 - until the bonded rubber mounting lifts slightly off the wheel bearing housing.
^ Now tighten bolts - 1 -.





^ Install bridge 3292/2.
^ Press one of the bonded rubber mountings out by turning hex bolt - 1 -.

Pressing out second bonded rubber mounting





^ Insert thrust piece 3349/1 and use spindle from 3292.
^ Pull out bonded rubber mounting by tightening the spindle.

Note:
^ Make sure that the tool blades lie completely on the shoulder of the bonded rubber mounting while pulling out.

Installing bonded rubber mounting into wheel bearing housing

Installing bonded rubber mounting is completed in one sequence.





^ Install both bonded rubber mountings together with tool 3293/3.
^ Pull in bonded rubber mountings by turning spindle.
