Procedures


Sealing flanges and flywheel/drive plate

Note: Servicing clutch:
Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.





1- 90 Nm + 1/4 turns (90°) turn
^ Always replace
^ Use 3415 counterhold when loosening or tightening
^ Threads and collar must be completely free of oil and grease.
2- Toothed belt gear for crankshaft
3- 15 Nm
4- Seal
^ Replace, Refer to Front Crankshaft Seal.
PTFE sealing ring:
^ Do not additionally oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal
5- Sealing flange, front
^ Must fit on bushing
^ Removing and installing, Refer to Timing Cover.
^ to remove and install, remove oil pan
6- Cylinder block
^ Crankshaft, removing and installing, refer to Crankshaft, Engine.
^ Pistons and connecting rods, disassembling and assembling, Refer to Piston, Engine.
7- 60 Nm + 1/4 turns (90°) turn additionally
^ Always replace
8- Flywheel/drive plate
^ Secure with 3067 flywheel retainer when removing and installing flywheel
^ Drive plate, removing and installing, Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
9- Intermediate plate
^ Must fit on bushing
^ Do not damage or bend while performing repairs
10- Sealing flange with oil seal
^ Replace only as complete unit
^ To install, use provided supporting sleeve
^ to remove and install, remove oil pan
^ Do not additionally oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal
^ Before installing, remove oil residue at crankshaft pin using a clean rag.
^ Supporting sleeve may only be removed after the sealing flange has been slid onto the crankshaft pin.
