Oil Seal at Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor
Remove oil seal at Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor
Removing
- Bring the lock carrier into service position: [1][2]Procedures
- Disconnect connector from Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (arrow).
- Remove upper portion of toothed belt guard.
- Remove sensor housing.
- Remove sensor washer and wheel.
- Insert 2085/1 Adapter into camshaft by hand to stop to guide Seal Puller.
- Unscrew inner portion of 2085 seal remover two rotations (approximately 3 mm) from outer portion and secure with knurled-head screw.
- Grease threaded head of 2085 seal puller, position and with forced pressure screw into oil seal as far as possible.
- Loosen knurled bolt and turn inner part against crankshaft until O-ring is removed.
Installing
Note: Introduction of PTFE-oil seals (identification: without annular spring, sealing lip has a wider design). The sealing lip of these oil seals may not be oiled or greased.
- Place T10071/5 on camshaft pin.
- Slide sealing ring over guide sleeve onto camshaft pin.
- Remove guide sleeve.
- Press in sealing ring until stop using T10071/3 thrust sleeve. Use M8 x 60 bolt for this.
- Insert notched shutter wheel for Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor into intake camshaft.
- Install gear (with cone facing outward) and tighten mounting bolt to 25 Nm.
- Install camshaft housing and tighten to 10 Nm.
- Install upper portion of toothed belt guard.
- Connect connector for Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.
The rest of the installation follows the reverse of the removal procedures.
