Brake Pedal, Removing and Installing



Brake pedal, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required





^ Release tool T10006 A

Removing
- Remove trim cover on driver side.
- Remove/pull back brake light switch and, if necessary, brake pedal switch.





- First press brake pedal in direction of brake booster and hold.
- Insert release tool T10006 A and pull in direction of driver seat. When doing this, counter hold on brake pedal. (At this moment the pedal must not be allowed to move backward). The mounting retaining lugs - 3 - will thereby be pressed off the ball plunger of the push rod - 2 -.

- Pull release tool T10006 A and brake pedal together toward the driver seat. (The brake pedal will thereby be pulled off the ball plunger of the push rod).
- Pull brake pedal out of push rod





- Pull off securing clip - 1 - from pin for clutch and brake pedal - 2 -.
- Loosen bolt - 3 - so far until the bolt has been screwed out of the recess - arrow -.
- Push pin - 2 - so far toward the left until the brake pedal can be removed.
- Remove the brake pedal.

Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, with special attention to the following:
- The bolt - 3 - is first to be tightened after the securing clip has been installed on the pin for clutch and brake pedal.

Joining brake pedal to brake booster
- Hold ball plunger of push rod in front of mounting and push brake pedal in direction of brake booster, so the ball plunger locates audibly.
- Adjust the brake light switch, as well as the brake pedal switch Brake Light Switch F and Brake Pedal Switch F47, removing, installing and adjusting, up to model year 2002.
