Lock Carrier and Front Bumper Reinforcement, Removing and Installing




Lock carrier and front bumper reinforcement, removing and installing from 10/00

Removing:






- Remove noise insulation Service and Repair
- Remove bowden cable and disconnect electrical harness connections.
- Remove front bumper and remove side bracket with bolt -3- from fender, refer to Front Bumper Cover, Assembly Overview Front Bumper Cover, Assembly Overview
- Disconnect hoses for charge air cooler (only for certain engine versions).
- Drain coolant and disconnect coolant hoses.
- Remove condenser from lock carrier. Service and Repair
- Remove hydraulic oil cooler from lock carrier.
- In vehicles with automatic transmission with ATF cooler, ATF lines must be removed. Service and Repair

CAUTION! If lines for A/C system and/or coolant are disconnected, engine must no longer be started.

Note: Do not hang condenser and hydraulic oil cooler on hoses. Condenser and hydraulic lines must not kinked

Installing:
- Tape off fender edges to prevent paint damage.
- Installation is reverse of removal.

Make sure that all plug and hose connections are correctly installed when re-assembling.

- Check ATF and top off. Service and Repair
- Align lock carrier at longitudinal and between fenders
- Adjust headlights. Adjustments
