Door Lock Knob: Service and Repair

Securing Knob For Locking Rod, Removing And Installing

- Following descriptions of removing and installing securing knob must always be observed.
- If disregarded, locking rods may rotate out of front door locks and relays may rotate into rear doors/damage mounts.

Removing

Right front and left rear doors
- Remove securing knob 180° to left.







- Remove securing knob upward in direction of - arrow -.

Installing

Right front and left rear doors
- Attach securing knob onto locking rod with marking -small point on top side- toward vehicle interior side.
- Press securing knob onto locking rod in direction of - arrow - only as far until corrugation is at height of door trim.
- Install securing knob 180° to left.







When locked, securing knob can be approx. 02 mm over door trim.

Removing

Left front and right rear doors
- Remove securing knob 180° to right.







- Remove securing knob upward in direction of - arrow -.

Installing

Left front and right rear doors
- Attach securing knob onto locking rod with marking -small point on top side- toward vehicle interior side.
- Press securing knob onto locking rod in direction of - arrow - only as far until corrugation is at height of door trim.
- Screw securing knob 180° to right.







When locked, securing knob can be approx. 02 mm over door trim.
