Upper B-pillar Trim, Removing And Installing

Vehicles without head-level airbag

Removing

NOTE: The illustrations cover only one side of vehicle, the other side of vehicle is the mirror image.







- Pry off cap - 1 -.
- Remove bolts - 2 - and - 3 -.
- Unclip trim - 4 - from door sill trim and remove.







- Unclip door sill trim - 1 - from front unto behind B-pillar.
- Remove hex bolt (40 Nm) - 2 -.
- Remove belt end fitting - 3 -.







- Unclip trim - 1 - from B-pillar at sides first, then in upper area.
- Remove seatbelt - 2 - from trim.

Installing







- Check clips - 1 -, replace if necessary and insert into mounts of trim - 2 -.
- Guide seatbelt with tab and belt end fitting through trim.
- Place trim in installation position and clip onto B-pillar, make sure seatbelt height adjuster is seated properly.
- Bolt belt end fitting onto sill (40 Nm).
- Clip door sill trim.
- Install lower A-pillar trim.
- Make sure that door seals are properly seated.

Vehicles with head-level airbag

NOTE: Upper B-pillar trim must be replaced after removal as it cannot be removed without being destroyed.

- Destroyed when removed.

Removing

NOTE: The illustrations cover only one side of vehicle, the other side of vehicle is the mirror image.







- Pry off cap - 1 -.
- Remove bolts - 2 - and - 3 -.
- Unclip trim - 4 - from door sill trim and remove.







- Unclip door sill trim - 1 - from front unto behind B-pillar.
- Remove hex bolt (40 Nm) - 2 -.
- Remove belt end fitting - 3 -.







- Unclip trim -- from B-pillar at sides first, then in upper area.
- Remove seatbelt -- from trim.
- If clamps -- remain in body when unclipping trim, clamps must be pressed using needle-nose pliers, to avoid damages. Carefully remove clamps from body, using pliers.

Installing







- Guide seatbelt with sliding tab and belt end fitting -- through trim --.
- Place trim in installation position and clip onto B-pillar, make sure seatbelt height adjuster is seated properly.







- Bolt belt end fitting - 3 - to sill with bolt - 2 - (40 Nm).
- Clip in door sill trim - 1 -.
- Install lower A-pillar trim.
- Make sure that door seals are properly seated.
