Oil supply line, assembly overview





1 - Oil supply line
^ To turbocharger

2 - Union nut, 22 Nm
^ When loosening and tightening, counterhold connection

4 - Banjo bolt, 25 Nm

5 - Clamp

Removing oil supply line

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required





^ Torque wrench (5 to 50 Nm) V.A.G 1331

- Remove sound insulation pan.
- Place drip tray V.A.G 1306 under vehicle.
- Remove air filter housing.
- Remove union nut - 2 - and banjo bolt - 4 - on oil filter bracket.
- Remove bolt - 6 -.
- Remove union nut - 2 - at turbocharger.
- Remove bolt - 9 - and bracket - 7 -.
- Remove nut - 8 - and take out bracket - 7 -.
- Remove oil supply line - 1 -.

Installing oil supply line

CAUTION! The installation of the oil supply line must be performed exactly as described in the following sequence.

- Loosely attach bracket - 7 - with nut - 8 - to exhaust manifold.
- Install union nut - 2 - and banjo bolt - 4 - hand-tight to oil filter bracket.
- Install union nut - 2 - hand-tight to turbocharger.
- Fasten union nut and banjo bolt to oil filter bracket with 22 Nm.
- Fasten union nut to turbocharger with 22 Nm.
- Position clamps - 5 - on oil supply line and fasten bolts to 10 Nm.
- Tighten nut - 8 - to 25 Nm.

- Always replace
4. Banjo fitting, 25 Nm
5. Clamp
6. 10 Nm
7. Bracket

- Always replace
9. 10 Nm

Recommended special tools and equipment







- V.A.G 1331 torque wrench (5 to 50 Nm)

Removing
- Remove noise insulation pan.
- Place a receptacle under vehicle.
- Remove air filter.
- Remove union nut and banjo fitting on oil filter housing.
- Remove bolt.
- Remove union nut on turbocharger.
- Remove bolt from bracket.
- Remove nut and remove bracket.
- Disconnect oil supply line.

Installing

WARNING: Installation of the oil supply line must be performed exactly in the sequence described below.

- Append bracket with nut loosely on exhaust manifold.
- Install union nut and banjo fitting on oil filter housing hand-tight.
- Install union nut on turbocharger hand-tight.
- Tighten union nut and banjo fitting on oil filter housing to 22 Nm.
- Tighten union nut on turbocharger to 22 Nm.
- Position clamps on oil supply line and tighten its bolts to 10 Nm.
- Tighten nut to 25 Nm.
