Left and Right-Hand Transmission Brackets, Removing and Installing
Left and right-hand transmission brackets, removing and installing, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (FWD)
Special tools and equipment:
^ 3282 Transmission support
^ 3282/19 Adjustment plate
^ VAG 1331 Torque wrench
^ VAG 1383 A Engine transmission jack
Removing
If both transmission brackets are to be removed, the transmission must be supported as described. If only one bracket is to be removed, it is not necessary to support the transmission.
^ Set up transmission support 3282.
Transmission support 3282 is set up with adjusting plate 3282/19 for automatic transmission 01V
The symbols on the adjusting plate indicate the mounts required, the arrow points forward.
^ Move jack VAG 1383 A with transmission support 3282 under the transmission, align adjusting plate parallel to transmission and support transmission.
^ Secure transmission to transmission support 3282 with bolt -A-.
^ Chock space between transmission support and oil pan using washers.
Removing right-hand transmission bracket
^ Remove bolts -B-.
^ Remove heat shield -C-.
^ Remove transmission bracket -D- by unscrewing bolts -A- from transmission.
Removing left-hand transmission bracket
^ Remove bolts -B-.
^ Remove heat shield -C-.
There is no left-hand heat shield on vehicles with 4 and 5-cylinder engine.
^ Remove transmission bracket -D- by unscrewing bolts -A- from transmission.
Left and right-hand transmission brackets
^ Remove bolts -A-.
^ Remove transmission bracket -E-.
Positions -C- and -B- should be ignored on hydraulic transmission mountings -H- as bolt -G- is screwed directly in the transmission mounting.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order.
