Gear lever knob and cover, removing and installing, 02J, 5 Spd. M/T





1. Gear lever knob
^ Screw on and off together with cover

2. Cover
^ Separating from gear lever knob go to Fig. 1
^ Connect to gear lever knob before installing Fig. 1
^ Remove and install together with gear lever knob

3. Sleeve
4. Clamp
^ To secure gear lever knob on gear lever
^ Secure on gear lever knob -item 1- using pliers VAG 1275





5. Bushing
^ Clipped into rubber noise damper

6. Rubber noise damper
^ Installation position: Arrows point toward front of vehicle

- Turn cover inside out.
- With a screwdriver carefully pry off clamping sleeve (arrow) and pull gear lever knob out.
- Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence, when doing this note the following:
- Insert gear lever knob in cover.
- Push clamping sleeve onto gear lever knob and engage.
- Install gear lever knob and cover together.
