Reverse shaft, disassembling and assembling, 02J, 5 Spd. M/T

Special tools and equipment:

- VW 454 Press piece
- VW 447 H Press plate
- VW 411 Press tool
- 12-551 Centering mandrel
- VW 401 Press plate
- VW 408 A Press tool

Note: After disassembling, always replace needle roller bearing in clutch housing and reverse shaft support.





1. Clutch housing
2. Needle roller bearing
^ Pulling out go to Fig. 1
^ Pressing in go to Fig. 2

3. Reverse gear wheel
4. Circlip
^ Always replace

5. Reverse sliding gear wheel
^ Before replacing remove circlip
^ Shoulder faces to reverse gear wheel

6. Reverse shaft
7. Needle roller bearing
^ Pressing out go to Fig. 3
^ Pressing in go to Fig. 4

8. Reverse shaft support

Note: The needle bearing is destroyed during removal and must be replaced.
