Overcenter spring, removing and installing, 02M, 5 and 6 Spd. M/T

Special tools and equipment

T10111 Assembly device:

Removing
- Remove cover/lower drivers side:





- Insert assembly device T10111 in overcenter spring from right side.
- Ensure that assembly device seats correctly on overcenter spring:
1 - Assembly device must fit exactly onto overcenter spring rear part, with claws over bridge -1-.
2 - Lightly press clutch pedal in direction of bulkhead.
- Hang assembly device tab -2- in overcenter spring cut out.
- Press clutch pedal to bulkhead until overcenter spring can be taken out of support mountings and clutch pedal.
- Make clutch pedal recede even more until it is in rest position.





- Turn overcenter spring together with assembly device T10111 in direction of arrow -A- and take out downward in direction of arrow -B-.

Installing
- Pull clutch pedal toward inside of vehicle.





- Fit overcenter spring together with assembly device T10111 in direction of arrow -A- into support. When doing this turn in direction of arrow -B-.





- Fit overcenter spring on support in rear -arrow A-.
- Press clutch pedal to bulkhead until overcenter spring lies against clutch pedal bearing tab (arrow -B-).
- Make pedal recede even more, until it is in rest position, and remove assembly device.
