Selector Mechanism, Disassembling and Assembling



Selector mechanism, disassembling and assembling, 09G, 6 Spd. A/T

Note: Lubricate mountings and sliding surfaces with polycarbamide grease G 052 142 A2.





1. Selector lever handle
2. Sleeve
^ Locates in selector lever handle
^ Prevents selector lever handle from being pulled off

3. Cover
^ With printed circuit board and frame
^ Assembly overview

4. Printed circuit board
^ With integrated Tiptronic switch -F189-
^ Can be checked in the "Guided fault finding" with Vehicle diagnosis, testing information system VAS 5051

5. Frame
^ With cover strip
^ Assembly overview

6. Bracket
^ With clip for selector lever cable

7. Locking plate
^ For selector lever cable to selector lever housing
^ Always replace

8. Selector lever cable
^ Do not bend or kink
^ If outer cable is damaged replace selector lever cable
^ Checking and adjusting
^ Do not grease eye and ball socket

9. Self-locking nut, 10 Nm
^ For cover to selector lever housing
^ Qty. 4
^ Always replace

10. Cap
^ For selector lever housing
^ With bonded seal

11. Selector lever housing
12. Bolt
13. Lock washer
14. Pawl
^ For selector lever lock
^ Grips into cable lever of selector lever housing

15. Mounting pin
16. Shift lock solenoid -N110-
^ Can be replaced with selector mechanism installed
^ Can be checked in "Guided fault finding" with Vehicle diagnosis, testing information system VAS 5051

17. Locking cable
^ For ignition key removal lock
^ Must not be kinked
^ Checking function of ignition key removal.

18. Bolt
^ For locking cable to selector mechanism
^ Tightening torque: 10 Nm

19. Steering column lock
20. Clip
^ Installation position: Fit clip from above. Angled ends of clip face steering column lock
