Selector Lever Handle, Removing and Installing

Selector lever handle, removing and installing, 09G, 6 Spd. A/T

Removing
- Move selector lever to position "R".





- Slide sleeve - 1 - downward.
- Pull button - 2 - out of handle - 4 - onto limit stop - arrow -.
- Secure button with a wire pin - 3 - to prevent it from springing back.
- Pull handle off selector lever.

Installing
- Move selector lever to position "R".





- Pull button - 2 - out of handle - 4 - onto limit stop - arrow -.
- Secure button against springing back with a wire pin - 3 -.

Note: Installation position: Button toward driver.

- Push handle onto selector lever onto limit stop.
- Remove wire pin.
- Press button to lock pull lever - 5 - into pull rod - 6 -. Button must now spring back onto limit stop.
- Slide sleeve - 1 -, in a twisting motion, upward until lug in sleeve perceptibly engages into slot in handle - 4 -.
- Move selector lever to position "P".
