Steering lock housing, removing and installing
Removing
- Remove steering wheel.
Remove upper and lower steering column trim.
- Remove bolt for steering column switch - arrow - and remove steering column switch.
- Remove plastic cover over shear bolts.
In vehicles with automatic transmission, locking cable for ignition key removal lock must be disengaged.
- Chisel out shear bolts using suitable chisel.
Removing and installing ignition starter switch/lock cylinder.
Installing
Install ignition starter switch/lock cylinder.
- Connect connector for ignition/starter switch.
- If necessary, engage locking cable for ignition key removal lock, automatics only.
- Install new snap-off screws.
- Tighten snap-off screw until head breaks off
- Install Steering Angle Sensor G85.
- Install steering column switch trim.
- Install steering wheel.
- Install airbag unit.
CAUTION: Make sure that no person remains in the vehicle while the battery is reconnected!
