Bleeding steering system
- Raise vehicle enough that front wheels turn without resistance.
- Check hydraulic fluid level and top off, if necessary.
- Start engine and let it run at idle for approximately 5 seconds.
- Switch off engine and check hydraulic fluid level.
- Repeat procedure once more.
- Start engine again and turn steering wheel 3 times from stop to stop at idle speed.
- Switch off engine and check hydraulic fluid level, top off if necessary.
- Repeat procedure 2 times.
To dissipate gas of hydraulic fluid, let engine stand 2 to 3 minutes.
- Lower vehicle
- Once more, turn steering wheel 5 times from stop to stop at idle speed.
Steering system has been bled when air bubbles no longer rise to the surface in hydraulic fluid reservoir.
- After completing the bleeding procedure, screw sealing cap on refill tank hand-tight.
