Component Locations, Overview (Engine Codes AVH, AZG)







1. Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve -N80-
- On right in engine compartment above wheelhousing liner
2. Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor -G40-
- Under toothed belt guard upper part
3. Intake manifold
- Upper part, disassembling and assembling
- Lower part, disassembling and assembling
4. Throttle valve control module -J338-
- If replaced match engine control module.
5. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) -G39-, 50 Nm
- Location: In exhaust manifold
6. 6-pin connector
- Contacts are gold plated
- For Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) -G39- and Oxygen Sensor (O2S) heater -Z19-
- On underside of vehicle on right
7. Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) -G130-, 50 Nm
- Location: In rear part of catalytic converter
8. 4-pin connector
- Contacts 3 and 4 are gold-plated
- For Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) -G130- and Oxygen Sensor (O2S) heater 1 (behind Three Way Catalytic Converter) -Z29-
- On underside of vehicle on right.
9. 81-pin connector
- Only disconnect or connect connector with ignition switched off
- Release to disconnect
10. 40-pin connector
- Only disconnect or connect connector with ignition switched off
- Release to disconnect
11. Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) -J220-
- Location: Under inner plenum chamber cover in passenger compartment left side
12. Mass Air Flow (MAP) sensor -G70- with Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor -G42-
13. Protective housing for relays
- Location
14. Air cleaner
15. Protective housing
- For fuses
16. Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) heating element -N79-
- For crankcase breather
- Not installed in all engines
17. Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor -G62-
- With Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor -G2-
- For engine control module
- If necessary, release pressure in cooling system before removing
18. Ignition coil with output stage -N70-, -N127-, -N291-, -N292-
19. Injector (-N30- to -N33-)
20. 10 Nm
21. Engine speed (RPM) sensor -G28-
22. O-ring
- Replace if damaged
23. 20 Nm
- Torque setting influences function of knock sensor

- Engine code BDC only
- Secured with spring-type clips on fuel rail
3. Supply line
- Only in engine code BDC fitted on fuel rail with spring-type clamp
- Plugged in engine code BGD
4. Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor -G40-
- Under toothed belt guard upper part
5. Intake manifold change-over valve -N156-
6. Intake manifold - upper part
7. Intake manifold - lower part
8. Combination valve
9. Throttle valve control module -J338-
- If replaced match engine control module.
10. Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) heating element -N79-
- For crankcase breather
- Not installed in all engines
11. 81-pin connector
- Only disconnect or connect connector with ignition switched off
- Release to disconnect

- Location: In rear part of catalytic converter

- Contacts are gold plated

- On underside of vehicle on right
