- As standard, front exhaust pipe and rear mufflers are installed as a single component. For repairing, the front exhaust pipe and rear muffler are supplied individually with a repair double clamp for connecting together
- Cut through connecting pipe with body saw e.g. V.A.G1523 at right angles at separating point

Work sequence
- Position double clamp approx. 5 mm away from marking "A" - arrow2 -.

NOTE:
- Marking "A" - arrow2 - is valid for models with manual or automatic transmission.
- Marking "S" - arrow1 - is not valid.







Installation position of mounting

Work sequence
- Install so that angled side on base of mounting - arrow - points forward.







Separating point on exhaust pipe

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Body saw, e.g. V.A.G 1523

Work sequence
- Separate exhaust pipe at right angles at separating point - arrow2 -.
- When installing, position repair double clamp - 4 - on side markings - arrows1 - and - 3

- Tightening torque: 40 Nm

- Position mounting pins on exhaust pipe parallel with tunnel bridge (dimensions - x - on left and right are equal).
