1 - Heat exchanger

2 - Connector
^ 4-pin
^ Contacts for Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor -G62- are gold plated

3 - Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor -G62-
^ For engine control module
^ With Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor -G2-
^ Contacts for Engine Coolant Temperature sensor -G62- are gold plated

4 - Connector
^ Only for engine code AEG until Model Year 1999
^ Vehicles with air conditioner only

5 - A/C cut-out thermal switch -F163-
^ Only for engine code AEG until Model Year 1999
^ Vehicles with air conditioner only, otherwise plugged

6 - Coolant pipe

7 - Securing clip
^ Check for secure seating

8 - 10 Nm

9 - To bottom of expansion tank

10 - To top of radiator

11 - O-ring
^ Replace

12 - Connecting union

13 - To bottom of radiator

14 - Oil cooler

15 - 15 Nm

16 - Thermostat
^ Checking: Heat-up thermostat in water
- Opening begins: approx. 86°C
- Opening lift: min. 7mm

17 - Toothed belt
^ Mark direction of rotation before removing
^ Check for wear
^ Do not kink.

18 - Coolant pump
^ Check for ease of movement
^ If damaged or leaking replace complete

19 - Rear toothed belt guard

20 - 20 Nm

21 - Throttle valve control module
^ Heated by coolant

22 - To top of expansion tank

23 - O-ring
^ Replace if damaged
