Brake Booster, Removing and Installing



Brake booster, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required





- Hose clamps 3094

Removing
- Obtain radio code on vehicles with coded radio.
- Disconnect battery.
- Clamp clutch master cylinder supply hose using hose clamp 3094.
- Remove clutch master cylinder supply hose.
- Remove control module and the hydraulic unit.
- Disconnect vacuum hose from brake booster.

Models with a TDI engine
- Remove retainer for the wiring harness from the vacuum pump.

Continued for all vehicles





- Disconnect connector - 1 - out of retainer - 2.
- Disconnect connection - 1 -.





- Remove trim below instrument panel.
- Remove screws - 1 -.
- Remove cover - A -.

Vehicles with manual transmission





- Remove connecting plate between clutch and brake pedals on vehicles with a manual transmission.
- Remove brake light switch - 1 -.
- Remove brake pedal from brake booster.





- Remove nuts - arrows -.
- Guide brake booster with brake master cylinder out forward to remove.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence of removal.
- Adjust Brake light switch.
- After installing, bleed the brake system.
- Bleed clutch.
