ABS Mark 60



Brake master cylinder/brake booster for vehicles with ABS/EDL/ASR/ESP Mark 60 from 10.00, assembly overview

Note:
^ The complete brake master cylinder and brake booster can be replaced independently of each other.

Brake master cylinder/brake booster for vehicles with ABS/EDL/ASR/ESP Mark 60 from 10.00, assembly overview:





1 - Brake booster, left-hand drive
^ For gasoline engines, the vacuum required is taken from the intake manifold.
^ In vehicles with a gasoline engine and an automatic transmission, the Brake System Vacuum Pump V192 is installed.
^ On Diesel engines a vacuum pump is installed to create the required vacuum.
Functional check
^ With engine switched off, depress brake pedal firmly several times (this removes the vacuum that is in the system).
^ Now depress the brake pedal with medium force and hold in this position and start the engine. If the booster unit is working properly, the pedal will be felt to give slightly under foot (booster assistance becomes effective).
^ If faulty replace complete.
^ Non-return valve (in vacuum hose)

^ Brake assist in brake booster

2 - Filler cap
3 - Brake fluid reservoir, left-hand drive
4 - Sealing plugs
^ Moisten with brake fluid and install into brake fluid reservoir

5 - Retaining pin
^ Insert through brake master cylinder

6 - Brake master cylinder, left-hand drive
^ Must not be repaired. If faulty, replace complete.

7 - Retaining plate
^ Used to secure the wiring harness

8 - Self locking hex nut, 20 Nm
9 - Brake fluid reservoir, right-hand drive
10 - Retaining plate
^ Used to secure the wiring harness

11 - Bleeder screw
12 - Brake master cylinder, right-hand drive
^ Must not be repaired. If faulty, replace complete.

13 - Brake pressure sensor 1 G201
14 - Bolt
^ To secure brake fluid reservoir to brake master cylinder

15 - Oil seal
^ Always replace

16 - Brake booster, right-hand drive
17 - Seal
^ For brake booster

18 - Self-locking hex nut, 20 Nm
19 - Boots
^ Make sure boots seats correctly otherwise there is a danger of suction noises

20 - Retainer
^ Secured to edge of brake booster

21 - Heat shield
22 - Sealing plugs
