Connecting VAS5051 and selecting functions

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

^ Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051
^ Diagnosis cable VAS5051/1 or VAS5051/3

CAUTION:
^ During a road test, the test and measuring instruments have to be fastened to the rear seat.
^ During the test, only a passenger may operate these devices.





- Connect diagnosis cable VAS5051/1 or VAS5051/3 to diagnosis connection.





- Switch tester on - arrow -.

The tester is ready when it shows the key pads of its operation modes.
- Switch ignition on.
- Touch Guided Fault Finding on the screen.
- Select the following one after the other:
^ Brand
^ Type
^ Model year
^ Variation
^ Engine code
- Confirm entered data.

Note:
^ Wait until the tester has checked all of the control modules in the vehicle.

- Press Go to and select the function "Functions/component selection".
- Select on display "Running gear".
- Select on display "Brake system".
- Select "01 - On Board Diagnostics System..." in the display.
- Select on display "Anti-lock brake System...".
- Select on display " Function".

Note:
^ Now all possible functions of Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) installed in vehicle are displayed.

- Select the desired function on display.
