Rear Spoiler Assembly, Removing and Installing

Removing
- Raise rear spoiler "manually".
- Removing rear lid trim.
- Remove rear spoiler drive.







- Remove the six bolts/screws - 1 - on left and right-hand sides of the top edge of the tailgate - 2 -.







- Unclip sealing grommets - 1 - on left and right-hand sides of the tailgate - arrow -.







- Open clips - 1 - on left and right-hand sides.

NOTE: Replace damaged clips - 1 - when installing.

- Take rear spoiler assembly of vehicle. To do this unhook lower guide tube - 2 - and upper guide tube - 3 - and pull apart on left and right-hand sides and pull apart clip - 1 - when taking the rear spoiler assembly off.
- Pull cable - 4 - out of left and right-hand sides of lower guide tube - 2 - when removing the rear spoiler assembly.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence of removal.

The following work steps must be performed in addition when doing this.







- Check condition of sealing grommets - 1 - before installing the rear spoiler assembly to the tailgate. The sealing grommets must seal the tailgate reliably. Replace hardened, porous or cracked grommets.
- Grease guides on the guide channel (gate guide) with special grease G 000 450 02 only if necessary.
- After installing rear spoiler assembly to the tailgate check parallel running and reinstate if necessary.







- Before installing trim to the tailgate check alignment of rear spoiler - 1 - on tailgate and adjust if necessary.
- The rear spoiler must seat centrally (left and right-hand sides).
- Dimension - a - = 6 mm
- Dimension - b - = 5 mm







- To align the rear spoiler, loosen bolts/screws - 1 - on top edge of tailgate - 2 - on left and right-hand sides and then move rear spoiler assembly within oversize holes. Torque setting: Bolts - 1 - = 6 Nm
