Active Spoiler Control Unit: Service and Repair



Rear Spoiler Drive, Removing and Installing

Removing

NOTE: The Rear Spoiler Control Module J223 and the Rear Spoiler Motor V52 are integrated in one component and are designated as rear spoiler drive in this description.

- Raise rear spoiler "manually".
- Remove lower tailgate trim.

CAUTION: Before working on electrical system: Disconnect battery ground (GND) strap.







- Disconnect connector - arrow - from rear spoiler drive - 4 -.

NOTE: The wiring harness connectors can be unhooked from the bracket on the lower guide tubes - 5 -.

- Loosen screw - 1 - and open hose clip - 2 - (unhook).
- Remove bolts/screws - 3 - and take drive - 4 - off lower guide tube - 5 -. Torque setting: Bolts - 3 - = 2.5 Nm

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence of removal.

The following work steps must be performed in addition when doing this.
- Check parallel running and reinstate if necessary before installing the rear spoiler drive.
- After completing the installation of the drive, lower and raise the rear spoiler completely "manually" Raising and lowering the rear spoiler "manually".
