Satellite Radio

General Information

Some "Premium 5.5 (SDARS)" and "Premium 5.5 - Monsoon (SDARS)" systems are prepared for Satellite Radio operation
- Sedan: from 03.04
- Convertible from 06.04

"SDARS" = Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service

A separate satellite radio receiver is mounted under the front passenger's footwell carpet. The receiver works in conjunction with the "Premium 5.5" and optional "Premium 5.5" - Monsoon" head units.

The satellite radio uses an antenna capable of receiving dedicated satellite radio broadcasts. Sedan - location: on roof.
Convertible - location: in instrument panel, under center top cover.

The satellite radio receiver fulfills the requirements of satellite radio service suppliers XM or Sirius in the USA only (information current at time of publication).

Satellite radio service is provided to customers on a subscription basis.

Before troubleshooting or servicing, technicians must be familiar with the functions and operation specifics of the applicable standard or optional radio system. Always read the radio owner's manual and review all radio and satellite radio functions.
