Selector Mechanism, Removing and Installing



Selector mechanism, removing and installing, 012/01W, 5 SPD. M/T

Removing
^ Carefully pry off cover from center console.
^ Remove shift knob with cover.





^ Rubber cover for shift mechanism housing must be removed - arrows -.





^ Now unscrew securing nuts for shift mechanism housing - arrows -.
^ Remove exhaust system behind catalytic converter, remove front exhaust system, if necessary.
^ Remove shift mechanism from transmission as follows:





^ Remove shift rod - arrow A -.
^ Remove pivot rod, unscrew hex socket bolt, to do so - arrow B -.
^ Remove shielding plate over exhaust system.
^ Swing shift mechanism housing together with shift rod and pivot rod downward and remove.

Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Adjust shift mechanism.

Tightening torques:
