Selector Mechanism, Removing and Installing

Selector mechanism, removing and installing, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (FWD)

Removing
- Remove selector lever handle.
- Pull up pull rod and hold in this position while shifting selector lever into position "P".
- Switch off ignition.
- Remove center console.





- Carefully pry off retaining tabs -arrows A- (qty. 4) from above.

The four retaining tabs -arrows B-, visible from above, must not be removed from the printed circuit. The printed circuit will otherwise be damaged.

If the retaining tabs are damaged -arrows A or B-, replace complete cover.

- Remove complete selector mechanism cover upward.





- Press in release tab -arrow A- on connector -1- and pull connector out of cover -2- in direction of arrow -B-.

Installing
Install in reverse order but note following:





- Push connector -1- in opposite direction of arrow -B- in cover -2- before engaging in selector mechanism.





- Install cover carefully to selector mechanism and lock in place at retaining tabs -arrows A- (qty. 4).

If retaining tabs are damaged -arrows A or B-, replace complete cover.
- Install center console.
