Selector Lever Handle (Black), Removing and Installing

Selector lever handle (Black), removing and installing, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (FWD)

Removing
- Set selector lever in position "3".





- Slide sleeve -1- downward.
- Pull the button -2- out of handle -3- just enough that the pull lever -arrow- hangs downward.
- Now pull the handle off the selector lever.

Installing
- Set selector lever in position "3".





- Pull the button -2- out of handle -3- just enough that the pull lever -arrow- hangs downward.
- Now press the handle on selector lever onto stop.

Installation position: Button points to driver.
- Pull button out slightly and guide the pull lever -arrow- into the handle.
- Press the button so that the pull lever engages in the pull rod -4-.

The button must now spring back onto stop.
- Slide the sleeve -1- upward.
- Set selector lever in position "P".

Removing and installing securing spring for locking cable

Removing
- Remove center console and extension.





- Lift spring slightly at the top -arrow B- and pull locking cable out of mounting bracket.
- Disengage spring -arrow A- from retainer lug -arrow C- and lift out.

Installing





- Insert spring from above -arrow B- and engage under retaining lug -arrow C-.
- Align spring so that it lies level in groove -arrow A-.
- Lift spring slightly at the top -arrow B- and insert locking cable in mounting bracket.
- Install central console and extension.
