Functional check
- The shift lever must rest in the 3rd/4th gear gate when transmission is in neutral.
- Operate clutch.
- Select all gears several times. Pay particular attention to the operation of the reverse gear lock.
- The shift lever must move from the 5th/reverse gear gate into the 3rd/4th gear gate on its own.
- It must only be possible to select reverse gear when the shift lever is in the neutral position in the 3rd/4th gear gate.
- It must not be possible to shift directly from 5th gear to reverse gear.

Note: If it is possible to shift directly or if only 5th gear and reverse gear cannot be engaged, the 5th and reverse gear locking unit must be checked and replaced if necessary.
