Shift Lever and Shift Lever Bushing, Removing and Installing



Shift lever and shift lever bushing, removing and installing, 012/01W, 5 SPD. M/T

Removing
^ Carefully pry off shift lever boot from center console.
^ Remove shift knob with shift lever boot.
^ As of 11/00 remove shift knob with shift lever boot.





^ Rubber cover for shift mechanism housing must be removed - arrows -.





^ Now unscrew securing nuts - 1 - for shift mechanism housing.
^ Shift mechanism housing will be lowered by doing so.
^ Remove pivot rod, to do this, unbolt socket-head bolt - 2 -
^ Remove shift rod, to do this, unbolt socket-head bolt - 3 -.
^ Remove complete shift lever bushing from shift mechanism housing - arrows -
^ Remove shift lever with shift lever bushing out of shift mechanism housing.

Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following:
