^ VAS5051 Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System
^ Diagnostic cable VAS5051/1 or VAS5051/3
^ Connect tester VAS5051 using diagnostic cable VAS5051/1 or VAS5051/3 as follows:





^ Push plug of diagnostic cable VAS5051/1 or VAS5051/3 onto diagnostic connection (arrow).





^ Switch tester on (arrow).
Tester is ready when an illustration (photograph) of a vehicle appears.
^ Switch ignition on.
^ Touch screen field/key: "Guided fault finding".
^ Select the following one after another:
^ Make
^ Model
^ Model year
^ Variation
^ Engine code

^ Confirm data entered.
Wait until the tester has read all available control modules in vehicle (vehicle diagnosis system).
After all control modules have been interrogated:
^ Press "Go to" button.
^ Select "Function/component selection".
^ Select "drivetrain (repair groups 01; 10...26; 28...39)".
^ Select "engine code".
^ Select "01-Systems capable of self-diagnosis".
^ Select "engine management system".
^ On screen, select respective functions or component in "Functions" or"Electrical components".
