Hydraulic Hose: Service and Repair


Pipe/hose assembly, removing and installing

Special tools and equipment





^ Filling and bleeding apparatus for brakes VAS 5234 brake filler and bleeder unit





^ Hose clamp 3094

Removing
^ Check whether a coded radio is installed. If so, obtain anti-theft coding.
^ With ignition switched off disconnect battery Ground strap.
^ Place a sufficiently large lint-free cloth underneath.





^ Fully remove retaining clip -A-, which secures pipe/hose, from slave cylinder.
^ Remove pipe/hose assembly from housing -C- in transmission.
^ Separate pipe/hose assembly -B- from clutch master cylinder and seal openings.
^ Remove pipe/hose assembly from support on bodywork.





^ Block supply hose -A- which leads to brake fluid reservoir with clamp 3094.
^ Using a screwdriver -1-, fully remove clutch master cylinder in direction of arrow and remove clip-B- which secures the pipe/hose.
^ Separate pipe/hose assembly -C- from clutch master cylinder and seal openings.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence. When installing note the following:





^ Fit pipe/hose assembly -C- into clutch master cylinder.
^ Fully engage retaining clip -B- into master cylinder -arrow-.
^ Fit pipe/hose assembly into support on bodywork.





^ Fit pipe/hose assembly -B- fully into clutch slave cylinder.
^ Install clip-A-.
^ Press pipe/hose assembly housing -C- in transmission.
^ Remove clamp 3094 from supply hose.
^ After installing pipe/hose assembly, bleed clutch system.
