Clutch master cylinder, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment
^ Release tool 3309
^ 10-208 A Pliers
Removing
^ Disconnect supply pipe -A- which leads to brake fluid reservoir and seal it.
^ Remove clip -B-, which secures pipe/hose to clutch master cylinder.
^ Separate pipe/hose assembly -C- from master cylinder and seal it.
^ Remove cover/lower drivers side.
^ Turn clutch pedal switch 90- to left and pull out from support.
^ Remove entire clutch pedal support as follows:
^ Remove connecting plate -A- first (arrows -1-).
^ Remove bolts (arrows -2-) for support -B-.
^ Remove support.
^ Separate master cylinder operating rod from the clutch pedal as follows:
^ To release, use tool 3309 for cut-out of clutch pedal (arrows -A-). The lettering "top/oben" (-B-) points away from clutch pedal.
^ Press tool together with pliers 10-208A in recesses (arrows -C-).
^ Turn stop -A- of clutch pedal in direction of arrow and remove.
^ Press master cylinder fully in direction of arrow -1
It must not be covered in upper area by overcenter spring mounting (arrow -2-).
^ Remove it from support in direction of arrow -3-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence. When installing note the following:
^ Retainer -A- must be on clutch master cylinder operating rod -B-.
^ Push clutch pedal in direction of arrow to engage it, and make sure it is located correctly.
^ Fit stop -A- for clutch pedal.
Installation position:
The arm (arrow) points toward the master cylinder -B-.
^ After installing clutch master cylinder, bleed clutch system.
