Note: Do not attempt to weld or straighten the axle beam or the stub axle.
^ Always replace self-locking nuts.
1. Wheel bolt
^ 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.)
2. Phillips-head screw
^ 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.)
3. Brake disc
4. Dust cap
^ Always Replace
^ Proper function and long service life can only be ensured by the perfect seal of a new dust cap
^ Pressing off and driving in from 42-31
5. Self-locking 12-point nut
^ Always replace
^ 175 Nm (129 ft. lbs.)
6. Wheel hub with wheel bearing and rotor
^ Always replace
^ Wheel bearing, wheel hub and the rotor are installed together in one housing.
^ Wheel bearing/hub unit is maintenance and adjustment free. Adjusting and servicing are not possible!
7. Hex head bolt,
^ Always replace
^ 60 Nm (44.3 ft. lbs.)

11. Self-locking hex nut,
^ Always replace
^ 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.)
12. Hex bolt
^ Always replace
^ 30 Nm (22.1 ft. lbs.) plus additional 90° turn
^ If threads in welded nut in longitudinal member are damaged, repair using Helicoil.
^ Do not repair more than one welded nut on each side with Heli-coils
13. Hex bolt
^ Always replace
^ 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.)
14. Rear axle mounting bracket
^ Check and if necessary adjust rear axle total toe after installation
^ If possible, do not loosen when removing the rear axle
15. Parking brake cable bracket
16. Bonded rubber bushing
Differences between bonded rubber bushing -item 16 and hydraulic bonded rubber bushing has a bead -arrow-, which faces towards the outer side of the vehicle.
Bushing must be replaced if leaking
18. Hex bolt
^ Always replace
^ 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) plus additional 45° turn

^ Stub axle contact surfaces and threaded holes are to be free of paint and dirt
21. ABS wheel speed sensor
22. Socket-head bolt
^ 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)
23. Spacer bushing
Material: Zinc
- Check for damage
24. Coil spring
^ Determine part number from Parts Supplier microfiche
25. Spring seat
^ End of the spring must lie against spring seat stop
26. Hex bolt
^ Always replace
^ 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) plus additional 90° turn
27. Hexagon head bolt
^ Always replace
^ 30 Nm (22.1 ft. lbs.) plus additional 90° turn
28. Shock absorber
29. Hex nut
^ Always replace
^ Axle beam must be in the middle position when tightening nut
It is recommended to load rear of vehicle with weight of one person when tightening
30. Stub axle
CAUTION:
^ Do not attempt to straighten the stub axle.
^ Do not attempt to re-cut threads.
