Front Seatbelts With Belt Tensioner - Assembly Overview

CAUTION: Belt tensioner units must be removed before starting any separation work, repairs or bulge corrections.







1 - Seatbelt height adjuster
- To remove height adjustment mechanism, upper B-pillar trim must be removed first

2 - Cylinder bolt
- 23 Nm

3 - Belt relay
4 - Cover cap for belt relay
5 - Hex bolt
- 40 Nm

6 - Front seatbelt latch
- Front seat belt latch bolt (not shown) Torque specification: [24 Nm ± 2.4 Nm]

7 - Anchor rail
8 - Cylinder bolt
- 23 Nm

9 - Hex bolt
- 40 Nm

10 - Washer
11 - Hex bolt
- 40 Nm

12 - Seatbelt with belt tensioner
- Two different belt tensioners are installed: Electrical belt tensioners in vehicles with side airbags and technicianal belt tensioners in vehicles without side airbags

CAUTION: Observe safety precautions for belt tensioners.

- Disconnect battery before removing seatbelt with electrical belt tensioner
- To remove, side trim must be removed first.
- Retaining tab determines position of automatic belt retractors
- Observe safety precautions for belt tensioners.

13 - Connector
- only with electrical belt tensioners

CAUTION: Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the belt tensioner. Therefore, the technician must be electrostatically discharged before disconnecting ignition- and Ground (GND) wires. This is done e.g. by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.

14 - Phillips-head screws
- 1.5 Nm

15 - Belt guide
- Secured with 2 Phillips-head screws
