Checking LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren)

NOTE:

- Service personnel must check LATCH anchors for damage and deformation.
- Welded LATCH anchors cannot be repaired or replaced.
- The fuel tank of the vehicle is located directly behind the area where the lower LATCH anchors are located. To avoid damaging of fuel tank and thus preventing fire caused by fuel leak, welding and boring are not allowed in this area. Bolts or any other brackets protruding into this area must be avoided as well.
- If upper and lower LATCH anchors are used, maximum child weight of 40 lbs. (18 kg) is allowed. Upper tether must not be used alone but only together with seatbelt system or lower anchors.
