Multi-function Transmission Range (TR) switch -F125-, servicing

Multi-function TR switch -F125-, removing and installing
Removing
- Move selector lever to position "N".
- Switch ignition off.





- Pull intake hose -1- and connector -2- off air Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
- Pull secondary air pump hose -3- off air cleaner housing.
- Remove bolts -4-, -5- and -6-.
- Remove air cleaner complete.





- Press selector lever cable -1- off selector shaft lever -4- with, for example, a 10 mm open end wrench -3-.
- Press locking devices on selector lever cable support mounting together (arrows) and pull selector lever cable out of transmission support mounting.
- Disconnect connector -2- from Multi-function TR switch -F125-.





- Remove nut -1-.
- Pull spring ring -2- and lever -3- off selector shaft lever -4-.





- Bend back hooks of locking plate -2- with a screwdriver.

Note: If one or more hooks of the locking plate break off while bending, the locking plate must be replaced.

- Remove nut -1
- Remove bolt-5-.
- Pull multi-function switch -4- along with washers -2- and -3- off selector shaft -6-.

Installing
Install in reverse order. When doing this note the following:





- Install multi-function switch -4- onto selector shaft -6-.
- Tighten multi-function switch securing bolts -5- hand tight.
- Bend back hooks of locking plate -2-.
- Place washers -2- and -3- onto selector shaft -6-.

Note:
^ Install washer-2- with hooks facing upward.
^ Install washer-2- with long thin guides into long thin recesses of selector shaft -6-.

- Tighten nut -1- to 7 Nm.
- Secure nut -1- by bending up hooks on locking plate -2-.

Note: If one or more hooks of the locking plate break off while bending, the locking plate must be replaced.





- Install lever -3- onto selector shaft -4-.
- Place transmission in position "P" using lever -3-. To do this, push lever -3- toward rear of vehicle onto limit stop.
- Select position "N" on transmission using lever -3-. To do this, move lever -3- two detents toward front of vehicle.
- Fit spring ring -2- and nut -1- onto selector shaft -4-.
- Tighten nut -1 to 13 Nm.
