Recirculating valve for turbocharger -N249-, checking
Special tools and equipment
- VAG 1551 Scan Tool (or vehicle system tester VAG 1552 with cable VAG 1551/3B)
- VAG 1526 Hand multimeter or VAG 1715 multimeter
- VAG 1594A Adapter set
Test conditions
- Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) completed
Test sequence
- Switch ignition off.
- Disconnect connector from Recirculating valve for turbocharger -N249-.
- Measure resistance between valve terminals.
Specification: 27 to 30 ohms
If the specification is not obtained:
- Replace Recirculating valve for turbocharger -N249-.
- Check DTC memory.
- Read readiness code.
If the DTC memory has been erased or the Engine Control Module separated from permanent (battery) positive, the readiness code must be generated again.
- Repeat test sequence.
If the specification is not obtained:
- Check wiring for open circuit or short to positive according to wiring diagram.
If no wiring problem is detected:
- Replace Engine Control Module (ECM).
- Check activation of Recirculating valve for turbocharger -N249-.
