Combi-valve, checking

Special tools and equipment





^ VAG1390 Hand vacuum pump

Test conditions
^ No malfunction stored in DTC memory
^ Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) carried out
^ Vacuum lines and hose connections free of leaks
^ Vacuum lines not blocked/kinked

Test sequence
- Remove engine cover.





- Pull vacuum hose -1- off secondary air injection solenoid valve -2- -N112-.
- Connect hand vacuum pump VAG1390 to vacuum hose -1-.

Note: Do not use compressed air during the following check!

- Remove pressure hose -arrow- between secondary air pump motor and connecting pipe and blow in with slight pressure.
Combi-valve must be closed.

Note: To release, press together the buttons on the hose coupling.

- Blow into pressure hose with light pressure -arrow-.
Combi-valve must be closed.
- Operate hand vacuum pump.
Combi-valve must open.
If the Combi-valve does not open:
- Replace corresponding Combi-valve.
