Spark Plug: Service and Repair




Spark Plugs, 1.8L, Replacing

Special Tools and Workshop Equipment Required
- Spark Plug Wrench -3122 B-
- Puller -T40039-
- Removal/Installation Tools -T10029-
- Torque Wrench -V.A.G 1331-
- Spark Plug Connector Pliers -V.A.G 1922-
- Puller -T10112-
- Puller -T10094 A-
- Seal Puller -T10118-

- Removing top engine cover.

NOTE:
Note installation position before pulling out ignition coils with power output stages.





- Unscrew bolts -1- from vacuum reservoir -2- and set vacuum reservoir with lines connected aside.





- Disconnect harness connector for ignition coil with power output stage -arrow- and carefully pull off ignition coil with power output stage from spark plug.





- Remove spark plugs using spark plug wrench -3122 B-

NOTE:



- Plug designation and torque specification.
- Follow all waste disposal regulations!

- Install new spark plugs using spark plug wrench -3122 B-

- Carefully connect ignition coil with power output stage by hand on to spark plug.





- Connect connector for ignition coil with power output stage.

NOTE:
- Observe installation position.
- Further installation is the reverse of removal.

- Install top engine cover.
