Safety Precautions And Notes When Working On Automatic Rollover Supports(TM)
CAUTION:
- Testing, removing, installing and servicing may ONLY be performed by qualified personnel.
- Battery Ground (GND) strap must be disconnected before performing any work on Automatic Rollover Supports(TM).
- Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) must only be removed and installed when driven out.
- Work on Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) must only be performed when in raised position. Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) can be raised using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051
- After engaged in lower position, Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) must have clearance of approx. 1 mm downward.
- No one must be close to Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) when connecting battery (minimum distance approx. 1 m).
- ALWAYS install Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) in vehicle, as soon as it is removed from packaging.
- NEVER leave Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) unattended.
- When removed, store Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) in the "Laid down" position.
- Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) must not be disassembled or repaired.
- Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) that has fallen onto hard surface or shows signs of damage (above all on magnetic switch), must not be reinstalled.
- When performing actuator test, do not place any objects on headrest.
- When performing body repair work in area of Automatic Rollover Supports(TM), always remove Automatic Rollover Supports(TM).
- After servicing body in vicinity of Automatic Rollover Supports(TM), check body for welding beads, deformations and chafe marks (compare with opposite side of vehicle).
- Persons in area of anti-rollover supports can be injured when anti-rollover support is lifting.
- Make sure, hand does not touch release lever when Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) is inserted - danger of injury.
- Do not let objects fall into openings when Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) is triggered. If this is the case, Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) must not be pushed in under any circumstances.
- If not engaged correctly, there is danger of injury because of unexpectedly triggering of Automatic Rollover Supports(TM).
NOTE:
- Automatic Rollover Supports(TM) can be raised using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051
- Front Passengers Airbag Disabled Indicator Lamp K145 indicates malfunction when number of activations is exceeded.
- All damaged components must be replaced after an accident. If no damage is noticed on anti-rollover supports, it can continue to be used. Perform function test on anti-rollover supports using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051
