iPod(R) / Satellite Radio Inoperative with Accessory ISA iPod Adapter Installed
Tip:
This technical bulletin only applies to units that had ISA kit part number 1K0051510A installed.
Technical Background
Due to harness length, CanBus communication between radio & external satellite module is lost.
Production Solution

Service
^ Verify that accessory kit 1K0051510A is installed. This can be recognized by a 4 meter coil of harness looped underneath the passenger dash.
^ Disconnect negative battery cable
^ Disconnect the two accessory harness connectors from the external satellite module
^ Connect the factory harness directly to the external satellite module
^ Reconnect negative battery cable
^ Place radio in satellite mode. If subscription is deactivated, place on channel 0.
Does satellite radio operation work?
No:
This technical bulletin does not apply. The problem is with the factory wiring harness or the external satellite module.
Yes:
^ Disconnect negative battery cable
^ Disconnect and remove the accessory harness from vehicle
^ Install accessory harness 1C0051710 in vehicle
^ Connect all connectors
^ Reconnect the negative battery cable
^ Check satellite radio and iPod operation
Tip:
For testing purposes, the iPod battery must be charged. The ISA kit only supports 12 volt charging.
