Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Table

NOTE:
- The following table lists all the malfunctions, with the corresponding 5 digit code numbers, that can be recognized by the Airbag Control Module -J234- and printed out by the V.A.G 1551 or the VAS 5051.
- The DTC appears only on the print out.
- Some of the listed DTC texts are displayed only on the VAS 5051. In this case only the malfunction code (DTC) is printed out at the V.A.G 1551.
- Possible malfunctions depend on the vehicle equipment.
- Before replacing a component shown as faulty, check wiring and connections to the component as well as ground (GND) connections referring to electrical wiring diagram.
- Check all relay plate connections are seated securely.
- When a repair has been carried out, the DTC memory must always be interrogated again with the scan tool V.A.G 1551 or the VAS 5051 and erased.
- In addition, the malfunction type may also appear in the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) table.
