Lateral Accelerometer: Service and Repair


Longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251-, removing and installing





The longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251- -1- is located on the righthand A-pillar

Removing
- Note or request radio code on vehicles with coded radio if necessary.
- Disconnect battery.
- Remove glove box.





- Disconnect connector off longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251-.
- Lift retainer -1- off longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251- -2- with a screwdriver.

Installing

CAUTION: Strong vibrations can damage longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251-.

- Insert longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251- into retainer.





- Installation position: The angled section -arrow- of longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251- -1- must face retainer -2-.
- Slide retainer -2- over longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251- -1- until it engages.
Further installation in reverse order.

Tightening torques:
Securing nuts for longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251- retainer: 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.)


- Perform basic setting of longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251-
